SAY & SPS Launch "Wait to Gate" Campaign

The Wait to Gate campaign is a simple community movement to keep high school athletics alcohol free. The goal is not to judge adult choices, but to create a clear and consistent environment around our students. The Scarsdale Public Schools and Scarsdale Action for Youth (SAY) would like to remind parents that alcohol should not be distributed or consumed during sporting events at our schools. Let’s keep the focus on our children and their efforts on the field!  For more information, please go to www.SayScarsdale.org/waittogate. Thank you!

Elementary Math Parent Resources

We are pleased to share the video recording and responses to the frequently asked questions from our March 24, 2026, elementary math parent Zoom meeting. The meeting slides are also available here. These resources have also been added to the Parent Resources tab of our public-facing Math website. As always, please continue to share questions with your child's teacher.

Rescheduled: Tweens, Screens & Digital Safety

Are you deciding whether to get your child a phone as you prepare them for middle school? IRL Scarsdale is bringing together 4th and 5th grade parents on Monday, April 27th at 7PM to discuss digital norms for our community and protecting our children’s well-being. You can register for the event here. The evening features Katey McPherson, a veteran public educator and leading voice in digital wellness, and Detective Christopher Moleski of the Scarsdale PD, who will provide essential local safety insights. The event will focus on tech habits that prioritize mental health, academics, and internet safety. Curious about alternatives to traditional smartphones? This event includes a live demo of the Bark Phone, which allows parents to manage apps, contacts, and screen time without the risks of less restricted devices.

Memorial Day Parade Float Competition

In honor of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States and the 325th anniversary of Scarsdale, the Village has developed a Children’s Float Competition to be featured at the Memorial Day Parade on May 25th. Residents are encouraged to use their creativity and join us in commemorating these important anniversaries! Entries must be submitted via online submission form by May 15, 2026, at 5:00pm.
